Irish Breakfast {Pj O'Rielly's}

    On this quiet Friday morning, we ventured out to a slightly hidden, albeit very popular, Irish pub for a little traditional taste of Irish breakfast.  Yes, there was Guinness!...but we didn't have any...  PJ O'Reilly's it is part of the Le Royal Meridien, but the entrance to the pub is from the street on the back side of the hotel, down an alley.  Once you get in, the pub feels quaint and homey.  There is dark wood and a stage in the middle of the room for live music.  We ate upstairs in the loft that overlooks the pub below.

    The menu offers some really hardy egg dishes, like Eggs Benedict and a Three Egg omelet.  Yet there are some surprisingly lighter and heathier options too, like the Coconut Chia Pudding, Bircher Muesli and even a plate of fresh fruit.  One of our favorites was the Toasty with egg, cheese and bacon (yes, real pork bacon), served on two slices of crispy buttery bread.  And of course, they don't leave out the chips (French fries).  Hot and crispy, right out of the fryer.  PJ's also offers a whole separate extensive menu for lunch and dinner....

PJ's really caters to the British expats that want a slice of life from home. Although I may be a Yankee, I do know a little about Ireland and can tell you that once those front doors close behind you, you will forget that you are in the desert.  That Irish hospitality flows like the taps of Guinness and everyone has a smile on their face.
