Garden Brunch {Rosewood Hotel}

As the brunching season is off to a bang again after the holidays, you can actually nab some last minute reservations at those normally hard to get places.  The Rosewood is one of those. Due to its intimate size, and VIP feel it is normally in high demand, and short on availability.  Yet, in January you can slip right in.  

Brunches come in all shapes and sizes, but the Rosewood is one of my favorites.  Not only do they offer unlimited Aperol Spritz from literally the moment you walk in the door, but they focus on made-to-order food, which means it is always hot and fresh, and can be served directly to your table.  All of the made-to-order stations are out on the beautiful poolside so you can enjoy the fresh air and scenery while you choose your BBQ meat or request a wood-oven fired mankeesh.   They offer all of the usual brunch offerings with a few specialties....a Bagel Bar with loads of toppings, manned with a chef to make you a grilled bagel sandwich. 

Another specialty is the savory pie.  After living in London, I developed a serious love for a flaky, buttery, rich savory pie and Rosewood thankfully rekindles it.  They actually make a few different ones,...purely veg, chicken, and fish.  Fish pie!  My fav! 

Each of the Rosewood restaurants also has a presence.  The fantastic Lebanese from Sambusek, Peking Duck and dim sum from Dai Pai Dong, and a wine and charcuterie from my favorite wine bar, La Cava.     

Desserts are plentiful and the ice cream and crepe station is an additional indulgence.  The price for the brunch starts at 365 AED and unfortunately, there are rarely vouchers offering a discount.  However, I do think the price is worth the value in quality food and enjoyable atmosphere. And, if you have kids, they offer a separate kids brunch with movie theater and games....  Which makes both parents and kids pretty happy.
